Swedish Position for Twinings Pure Green Tea

We are aware that Testfakta recently published the results of tests carried out on nine brands of green tea. One of the products tested was Twinings Pure Green which showed a trace of a preservative Bifenyl (also known as Biphenyl) which is not normally used in tea growing.
Having been notified of the test, and as a matter of urgency, we have collated product samples and sent them for testing at an independent laboratory. Our investigations remain ongoing.
We take any potential drink quality issues extremely seriously and this issue is no exception. As a result we are carrying out our own investigations as a matter of urgency. However, our first and overriding concern is always the safety of our consumers.
It is important to note that Twinings Pure Green is perfectly safe to drink and this issue poses no risk to consumers.
We continually test incoming tea shipments to assure the quality of the tea and ensure compliance with European Union legislation that relates to our products.
